Stuart AmoryFounder of In-Kilter Fitness
Stuart was born in Aberdeen in August 1975 and stayed in the North East of Scotland until joining the Royal Air Force as a Physical Training Instructor in 1995.
Before joining the RAF, Stuart always had a very keen interest in fitness and sport and by the time he was 10 years old, had gained his black belt in shotokan karate and was awarded Scottish Champion at the age of 13. His ambition was to join the RAF, so he decided to join the Air Cadets and with lots of determination and hard work, won many sporting awards along the way including ‘Best Sports Cadet in Scotland and Northern Ireland’ two years running.
On joining the RAF, he was selected to become a Physical Training Instructor at RAF Leeming, one of the RAF’s busiest units, housing three front line fighter jet squadrons and a RAF Regiment Squadron. After four years of keeping the troops fighting fit, he was chosen to become a Parachute Jumping Instructor to train and work alongside the Parachute Regiment, Marines and the SAS. From 2003-2005, Stuart could regularly be seen falling from the sky as part of the world famous RAF Falcons parachute display team.
On leaving the RAF in 2005, he gained his diploma in personal training and sports massage with Premier International. Stuart quickly started training clients in the south west London area and was chosen to train Blue Peter’s Zoe Salmon to be the first woman presenter to run the London marathon.
With Stuart’s reputation as an effective and motivating fitness trainer, he regularly provides advice as an industry expert to many well known magazines including Cosmo Brides, Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, Heat, and Good Housekeeping.
